Behind the Scenes: My New Private 3D Challenge, WASP
INTRODUCTION
Hi there, I am Mohamed Radwan, a contract 3D artist from Egypt.
I really like drawing and pictures. My journey started with enhancing pictures in Photoshop and over time, I began studying little by little about 3D design, beginning with Cinema 4D. After some time, it grew to become my beloved occupation which I pursue with dedication.
Not too long ago, I’ve began working with Blender. Initially, it was a bit difficult, however I grew to adore it as a result of it stands out for its giant and great neighborhood.
INSPIRATION
I used to be attempting to problem myself on this undertaking by creating one thing that appears as sensible as doable.
PROCESS
Instruments:
- Blender
- Substance Painter
- 3Df Zephyr
Sculpting
To make the sculpting work simpler, I created a number of components for the wasp’s physique. It was a problem for me to sculpt all of the tremendous particulars, though a lot of them weren’t seen within the ultimate render.
The half that took essentially the most time was making an attempt to sculpt the hair follicles. There have been a lot of them, and I did it manually. The problem was to put the hair within the appropriate spots moderately than randomly to make it extra sensible.

Texturing
After ending the sculpting, a clear retopology was made and the mannequin was baked on it. Then, I created the feel utilizing Substance Painter as a result of it was a bit complicated.
Scene
I used to be not sure what the wasp ought to stand on within the scene. I attempted varied objects, like a tree department, however they weren’t appropriate. It was prickly pear season, and I used to be consuming one when it occurred to me to do a 3D scan of the prickly pear and have the wasp stand on it.
And that was all! Under are the ultimate renders together with the clay renders.
